REROOTED project kicks off in Denmark

From 24–26 August, the REROOTED project partners came together for the project kick-off in Copenhagen and Lolland, Denmark. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the project’s objectives, activities and roles, and to meet the frontrunner rural communities that will play a central role in REROOTED.

The programme at the University of Copenhagen included partner presentations, discussions and a workshop with the frontrunner communities. A field visit to Lolland offered a practical look at a rural area undergoing significant change, including major municipal investments in housing and village development.

The programme also included a visit to the Fehmarn Belt construction site, which is already creating jobs and is expected to significantly influence the region in the future.

Supporting rural areas through demographic change

ELARD is one of the project partners, helping to connect REROOTED with rural communities and stakeholders across Europe. Through its network of Local Action Groups, ELARD will contribute to knowledge exchange and support the wider uptake of project results within the European rural development community.

ELARD will also contribute to the Knowledge and Community Learning Hub, supporting learning and exchange between rural communities and helping to share the project’s knowledge and solutions more widely across Europe.
