Event Details
On April 29, a stakeholder consultation on “Agropastoralism” will be held in Brussels, in the Committee of the Regions building. The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is currently drafting an opinion on “Agropastoralism”, because its survival is under threat from a range of difficulties due to: the economic context, competition for land, difficulties in handing on know-how, environmental constraints on the organisation of grazing, competition with other users of pasture, in particular for leisure purposes, and lastly the threat posed by large carnivores to flocks.
The rapporteur of the opinion, Jacques Blanc (FR/EPP), Mayor of La Canourgue, together with the expert Laurent Garde, will meet with representatives of local and regional authorities and stakeholders in order to exchange views. Subsequently, this policy debate will feed into the CoR opinion on the subject.
The working document is available in English and in French.
Registration is possible until April 25 HERE. For further information, please contact: nat@cor.europa.eu
