ERP Members meeting on 10th of December

Green deal, Covid-19 impact on rural areas, need to promote local development policy, cooperation with rural youth – these and a lot of other important issues were highlighted as important in 2020 and in future by European Rural Parliament partners in the meeting on December 10th.

The goal of this meeting was to create agenda for ERP Mid-Term Event. Is is normally held in Brussels to enable participation from the European Institutions, but in 2021 will be held on-line due to Covid-19.

Majority of ERP partners have moved their planned national and regional events to on-line, including the first online only Rural Parliament in Scotland. Big part of partners unfortunately have cancelled their National Parliaments and other events. In the discussion there were suggested an alternative ways to hear the voice of civil society, like Cascade of ideas implemented for ERP couple of years ago. ELARD’s and REDR’s macro survey “Which future do youwant in rural areas?” was pointed out as valuable material that gives an insight of the existing needs and thoughts of rural people all around the Europe.

ERP Steering group will include proposals given by partners in the agenda and continue preparation work for ERP Mid-Term Event. Information about the date will be sent soon!
