Successful Training days for LAG Managers within the COM4LGD Project in Tirol

Earlier this autumn, Local Action Group (LAG) managers from across Europe gathered in St. Johann in Tirol, Austria, for an intensive Exclusive Networking & Capacity Building Training within the Communities for Local Green Deal (COM4LGD) project, which ELARD Knowledge Hub organized.

The event brought together 24 participants from 15 countries, creating a unique space for learning, exchange, and collaboration on how LAGs can drive local green transitions through innovation, participation, and community-led action.

Learning, inspiration, and innovation

Throughout several dynamic days, participants explored key themes shaping the future of rural development, including:

  • The European framework for community-led local development
  • The evolving role of LAGs in the Green Deal context
  • Innovation management and climate action
  • Community building, preparedness, and resilience
  • The potential of artificial intelligence in rural development

A highlight of the programme was a study visit hosted by Regio3 in Tirol, offering participants practical insights into sustainable regional development and local innovation in practice.

Building networks and exchanging experiences

Beyond training sessions, the event provided an invaluable opportunity for networking and peer learning. Participants shared their own experiences, challenges, and success stories, strengthening ties across Europe’s rural development community.

The training concluded with a certificate ceremony, celebrating the dedication and achievements of all involved.

A heartfelt thank you

ELARD and the COM4LGD partnership extend warm thanks to Regio3 in Tirol for their generous hosting and to all participants for their active engagement. Together, we created a warm, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment, a true example of the collaborative spirit behind the Local Green Deal approach.

Looking ahead

The COM4LGD project continues to build knowledge and capacity among Europe’s LAGs. More training and exchange opportunities are on the horizon. Stay tuned for updates and future calls to join this growing learning community.
