Smarter, stronger and more competitive rural areas: The way forward for EU policies

May 21 @ 09:30 - 11:30

The EU Institutions are preparing for the next Multi Annual Financial Framework that will be tabled in July 2025. The next EU budget builds from the Political Guidelines of the European Commission, themselves drawing ideas from the Letta and Draghi Reports, as well as the Long-Term Vision for Rural areas and the recent Vision for Agriculture and Food.

All of this points to very significant changes in how EU policies are developed and delivered on the ground. Therefore, the time is right to consider the role of community-led, social, technological and business innovations in creating vibrant rural areas.

This webinar will showcase and discuss the policy findings and recommendations of the FUTURAL project to improve existing policies to strengthen rural innovation. It will also be the opportunity to reflect with senior representatives from the European Commission, Parliament, Committee of the Regions and European Economic and Social Committee as well as the leadership of key rural networks ERCA, PREPARE on how rural innovation can inform the ongoing debate on future EU policies. Our president, Piotr Saldocha, will be present as a speaker.
