Civil Society Week

The European Civil Society Week is a major EU-level forum bringing together civil society organisations, policymakers, and grassroots actors to respond to growing social, democratic, and territorial challenges across Europe. For Local Action Groups, the event is particularly relevant as it focuses on strengthening civic engagement, social inclusion, and trust in democratic institutions while addressing inequalities between regions and generations. Organised around the themes of opportunities, security, and resilience, and aligned with key European Commission priorities, the week will showcase debates and participatory sessions on how local communities can better involve citizens, counter polarisation, support vulnerable groups, and contribute to a more cohesive and democratic Europe, including in rural and peripheral areas.
Registrations will open in February. Stay tuned via the link below.
The following sessions will be especially intersting for LAGs:
- What holds us together? The power of social cohesion – Monday the 2nd at 14:00
- When the system stops delivering: housing, inequality and Europe’s social contract – Monday the 2nd at 16:15
