4th European Rural Geographies Conference

From 22 to 26 June 2026, the 4th European Rural Geographies Conference “Reinventing Rural Spaces: Resilience, Innovation and Sustainability in a Changing World” will take place at the University of Porto, Portugal.
This international conference will bring together researchers and practitioners to explore how rural areas can respond to today’s key challenges – including climate change, innovation, and socio-economic transformation.
The programme will feature expert sessions, presentations, and field visits, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and forward-looking discussions on rural development.
Marion Eckardt, Head of ELARD Knowledge Hub, will participate as an inaugural conference speaker, contributing to raising awareness of ELARD and LEADER principles and sharing insights from ongoing projects.
