ELARD Joins OpenEU to Strengthen Higher Education Access in Rural Areas

ELARD and ELARD Knowledge Hub is proud to announce its role as an Associated Partner in the Open European University (OpenEU) initiative. OpenEU is the first pan-European open university alliance, using technology to address societal challenges through knowledge, education, and innovation.

As part of OpenEU, ELARD will contribute to the Stakeholder Advisory Board, focusing on increasing participation in higher education for underrepresented groups, especially those in rural areas. Our goal is to promote lifelong learning and ensure that people living outside urban centers have access to quality education and skills development.

Beyond accessibility, ELARD will play a key role in building an engaged European stakeholder network. We will work to identify the specific learning needs of rural communities in OpenEU’s member countries, ensuring that educational initiatives are tailored to local realities.

By collaborating within OpenEU, we take an important step towards bridging the rural education gap and empowering communities through knowledge.
