Stakeholder consultation - Targets and tools for a smart rural Europe

Stakeholders on rural development are invited to an in-person Stakeholder Consultation on the CoR opinion on Targets and tools for a smart rural Europe.

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is preparing an Opinion on Targets and tools for a smart rural Europe.

The rapporteur, Mr Radim Sršeň, Mayor of the Municipality of Dolní Studénky, Deputy Minister of Regional Development of the Czech Republic and Vice-chair of the CoR Commission for Natural Resources (NAT) is looking for the highest possible quality input and widest range of different views for his opinion that will cover all policies relating to rural areas. We believe your expertise can contribute to achieving this objective.

If you cannot attend the meeting in person, you can share your views in a position paper related to the topic, and send it before the meeting to nat@cor.europa.eu. To frame the discussions, the rapporteur is sharing with you his working document as well as the declaration recently endorsed at the occasion of the NAT commission seminar in Lednice, Czech Republic.

The draft opinion is scheduled for adoption in the NAT meeting of 31 January 2023 and the plenary in mid-March 2023. This consultation will provide useful information for the rapporteur to help him in the preparation of the draft opinion.

The meeting will be held in English. Written contributions can be sent in any official EU language to nat@cor.europa.eu.
